A disturbance at a local motel last week led Minden police officers to a Texas couple who are now guests at the parish prison facing a variety of drug charges, Minden Chief of Police Steve Cropper said.

“The two individuals were arrested after Officers Brandon Curry, Clint Smith and Sgt. Chris McClaran received permission to conduct a search and found illegal narcotics and paraphernalia in their room,” Cropper said.

Angelia McIntyre McCrary, 42, and Daniel Bryan Moss, 37, both residents of Longview, Texas, were booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center following their arrest. McCrary is charged with possession of marijuana (third offense), possession of drug paraphernalia and disturbing the peace.

Officers found two glass pipes commonly used for smoking methamphetamine, one marijuana cigarette, one ounce of marijuana, a syringe and a small amount of methamphetamine, Cropper said.
