On September 21, Minden and Simply Southern Cottage will host Cottages & Bungalows magazine for a one-day event celebrating the town’s historic charm. The event, titled “The Colorful Cottages of Minden,” promises a day full of unique experiences centered around the town’s well-preserved cottages and local flair.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Wendy from Chair Whimsy and interact with the editor-in-chief of Cottages & Bungalows. The event will also feature a vintage market at Academy Park and a curated market at The Villas at Spanish Court, offering a wide selection of goods. Additionally, food trucks will be stationed along West Union Street, providing a variety of options for visitors.
One of the event’s main attractions includes tours of several iconic properties in Minden, such as the Fuller White House, Phillip’s Cottage, and the personal home of Sara McDaniel, owner of Simply Southern Cottage. McDaniel expressed her excitement for the event, sharing that a portion of the proceeds will go toward supporting the mission of Phillip’s Cottage.
McDaniel encouraged participation, noting that even if guests have already toured the featured homes, they can still enjoy shopping at the markets and visiting the food trucks at no cost. She added, “This is gonna be a perfect day in Minden and we can’t wait to see you.”
The event provides an excellent opportunity for both locals and visitors to explore Minden’s architectural heritage while enjoying the lively atmosphere of markets and local cuisine.
