Tide romp Raiders, 20-3

by Minden Press-Herald

The Minden Crimson Tide had no problems rolling past an outmatched Huntington team at home Tuesday night, handing the Raiders a 20-3 defeat while improving their district record to 5-0.

Minden has won four straight and five out of their last six games, moving their record over .500 at 10-9.

The Tide sent senior Cade Coleman to the mound and he delivered in a big way, going all five innings, striking out seven batters, allowing just five hits and giving up two earned runs. Coleman is now 2-0 on the season.

At the plate, Minden was led by Matt Eskew, Peyton Gray and Trace Francis. Each had a single to accompany their 2 RBIs. Jordan Lyday had two singles and 1 RBI, followed by Coleman, Gunner Stephens and Gavin Smith, who all had RBIs but no hits. Huntington committed nine errors in the game.

Minden has a pivotal home game Friday at 6 p.m. against North DeSoto. The Griffins are the No. 8 team in Class 4A.
