USA Today bestselling author Liz Talley holds book signing in Minden

by Amber McDown

USA Today Bestselling author Liz Talley returned to her hometown for a book signing at Red Blooms in downtown Minden on December 3. Fans and new readers gathered to meet the author and browse a selection of her more than 30 novels.

Talley, a Minden native and Minden High School graduate, has been writing for nearly 20 years. “I’ve been published for almost 15 years, and I started writing about 5 years before that,” said Talley, who previously worked as an English teacher.

Known for her women’s fiction and romances, Talley’s stories often reflect the charm and complexity of Southern life. Her first novel, a romance set in East Texas, features a librarian as the main character. After writing 15 books for Harlequin, Talley transitioned to Montlake and later to Hallmark Publishing.

Now, Talley is exploring new genres. “I’m currently writing a dark comedy, which I may publish under another name,” she said, noting that, as her maiden name was Amy Rogers, she may use Amy Talley and keep Liz Talley as her pseudonym for women’s fiction and romance.

Talley’s roots run deep in Minden, where her parents still reside. “I married a guy from Minden — we were childhood sweethearts,” she said, recalling her days as Amy Rogers.
