Mrs. Vivian Harris Millener was born to the late Mr. Earnest Harris and Mary Ann Jefferson-Harris in Claiborne Parish. She was among nine children. Her parents and all siblings preceded her in death.

Vivian joined the Pilgrim Rest Methodist Church at an early age and later united with the Saint Rest Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her death. She served on the Usher Board at Saint Rest for 60 years.

Vivian united in holy matrimony with Hildred Millener, Oct. 8, 1947, and they remained married until his death. To this union, her only son, Freddie Millener was born.

Vivian was an avid baseball fan. Her passions included travel and fashion, especially her church hats!

On Thursday, June 16, 2016, God called His servant home. She leaves to cherish her memories a large extended family including a loving son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Belinda Millener, four grandchildren; Delmetria Lynne Millener (Bertram) Dallas, Tahir Lateef Millener, San Leandro, California, Chandra Kaye Adams (Dana) McKinney, Texas, Cornelius Buffin, Dallas, seven great-grandchildren: D’Javrick, Devin, Chelsey, Peyton, Kasey, Kahlir, Drew, great-great-grandchildren; Anisley, Jayden, her special children; Lou, Margaret and Clay, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends, and special friend, Mr. Nathaniel Wilson.

Homegoing celebration services Mrs. Vivian Harris Millener will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the St. Rest Baptist Church with Pastor B. J. Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 24 the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to [email protected].
