Webster Parish voters will head to the polls Saturday, November 15, to decide on two millage renewals that fund road maintenance across the parish. Officials emphasize that both items are renewals, not new taxes, and will continue existing funding for another 10 years.
The two renewals on the ballot are:
- Road District A – 2.65 mills renewal – 10 years
- Road District B – 3.92 mills renewal – 10 years
These funds are used by the Webster Parish Police Jury to maintain and improve parish roads and bridges. Approval of the measures would allow the parish to continue its current level of road and infrastructure work without interruption.
Early voting runs through November 8. Citizens can vote between 8:30 AM and 6 PM at the following locations:
Webster Parish Courthouse
- 410 MAIN STREET ROOM 101
- MINDEN, LA 71055-3382
Springhill Civic Center
- 101 MACHEN DR
- SPRINGHILL, LA 71075
Voters are encouraged to participate in the November 15 election. Absentee voting options are also available for those unable to cast ballots in person.
According to Secretary of State Nancy Landry, the deadline to request an absentee ballot is Wednesday, November 12, by 4:30 PM. Requests may be made online at voterportal.sos.la.gov by selecting “Request Absentee Ballot,” or in person at the parish Registrar of Voters Office.
Completed absentee ballots must be returned by Friday, November 14, at 4:30 PM. Voters are encouraged to allow extra time for mail delivery. Those unable to meet absentee deadlines can still vote in person on Election Day. Polling locations are listed on the Secretary of State’s website or the free GeauxVote mobile app.
Recent changes to state law now allow an individual to assist a voter with their absentee ballot and deliver ballots for immediate family members, as well as one non-immediate family member.
For questions, voters can contact the Elections Hotline at 800-883-2805, use TDD/TTY access at 711, or email [email protected].
The Webster Parish Police Jury encourages all residents to take part in the election and help ensure continued support for local road improvements.
