Wanda Dixon, special education teacher, was presented with a plaque and a token of appreciation for her work with Webster Parish students.

In her nomination, Lee Ketchum with Taylor and Sons says Dixon goes above and beyond for the students she serves.

“She’s been known to make home visits to coerce reluctant students out of bed and get them to come to school,” she read. “She takes the initiative to seek out professional development opportunities to help meet the individual needs of her students.”

She is said to have an open mind with new technology and strategies, and a true heart for children in special education.

“Our special ed department is truly privileged to have her work with our kids,” Ketchum read.
