The Webster Parish Fair returned to Minden last week, bringing families, friends, and visitors together for several days of carnival rides, games, food, and agricultural competitions.
The fairgrounds were filled with the sights and sounds of the midway, where children enjoyed rides and games while visitors sampled traditional fair favorites. Pleasant fall weather added to the festive atmosphere.

A highlight of the week was the Webster Parish 4-H Junior Livestock Show, which gave young exhibitors an opportunity to showcase months of hard work caring for and preparing their animals.
Competitions included poultry, rabbits, swine, lambs, goats, and cattle, with participants demonstrating their knowledge and showmanship before judges and spectators. Some animals proved more cooperative than others, providing a few entertaining moments as exhibitors worked to keep their livestock moving in the right direction.

The livestock competitions concluded with the Doug Sale Memorial Award, which tests exhibitors’ abilities to handle animals outside their usual divisions. Taylor Rayner earned this year’s honor.
From the excitement of the carnival midway to the determination of young livestock exhibitors, the annual fair once again celebrated Webster Parish’s agricultural traditions and community spirit.
