Webster Parish man killed in suspected domestic incident

by Minden Press-Herald

A 58-year-old Webster Parish man was shot and killed the afternoon of Sunday, September 13, in what investigators believe stemmed from a domestic incident.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker identified the victim as Daniel Wayne Hair, a resident of the 300 block of Lorex Road. Hair reportedly died from a single gunshot wound at a residence in the 3400 block of Dorcheat Road.

Deputies were dispatched to the Dorcheat Road residence at approximately 2 PM Sunday following a report of a dispute, Parker said.

The alleged shooter, identified as 21-year-old Luther David Hair, is the victim’s nephew. He was taken into custody and was being interviewed by Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives Sunday afternoon.

Parker emphasized that the investigation remains in its early stages. As of Sunday afternoon, investigators had not determined what, if any, charges would be filed in connection with the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
