Webster Parish mourns the loss of Deputy Sgt. Tommy Lee Zilliner

by Minden Press-Herald

Webster Parish bid farewell to Deputy Sgt. Tommy Lee Zilliner, 76, who was laid to rest on February 21 after complications from an illness. Zilliner served 24 years with the Sheriff’s Office, both as a reserve and as a patrol deputy.

Throughout his tenure, Zilliner was committed and professional, leaving a mark on colleagues and the community. From his days as a reserve deputy to his role as a patrol deputy, Zilliner approached his duties diligently.

Prior to his service with the Sheriff’s Office, Zilliner served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retirement.

Law enforcement vehicles from local and regional agencies participated in a caravan to escort Zilliner to his final resting place at the Veteran’s cemetery in Keithville.

Sheriff Jason Parker extended condolences on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, remarking, “We have lost a dedicated deputy who touched many lives in a positive way, both the people he worked with in the department and in the public during his time with us.”
