Webster Parish School Board honors teachers, students

The Webster Parish School Board honored its best and brightest Monday night with an awards ceremony at Minden High School. Students of the year, teachers of the year and principals of the year were awarded with a certificate and plaque. Special awards were presented as well. Each group is pictured with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Dan Rawls and WPSB President Charles Strong

Michelle Bates/Press-Herald Students of the year were recognized during an awards ceremony at Minden High School Monday. Elementary students of the year include Ethyn Rader of Browning Upper Elementary School, Lillian Jolly of Central Elementary, Kami Burge of Doyline Elementary, Deziray Elkins of North Webster Upper Elementary and Laci Cheatham of Richardson Elementary. District student of the year in the elementary division is Lacey Cheatham. Junior High students of the year include Londan McIver of Lakeside Junior High School, Reegan Harris of Doyline Junior High School, Madelyn McMullan of North Webster Junior High School, Madison Pye of Webster Junior High School. District student of the year in the junior high division is Reegan Harris. High School students of the year include Abigail Smith of Doyline High School, Sommer Laliberte of Lakeside High School, Matt Flynn of Minden High School and Wil Plants of North Webster High School. District student of the year in the high school division was Matt Flynn.

Michelle Bates/Press-Herald Webster Parish Schools Transportation Supervisor Buster Flowers was presented with the honored distinction of the Louisiana Association of School Transportation Officials Lifetime Achievement Award for his many years of service keeping Webster children safe as they are taken to and from school each day.
