Webster Parish Tourism organized a warm reception for the participants of the ASA Pro/Am archery competition at Camp Minden on April 26. The attendees were treated to delicious barbecue from Smokin’ Js and enjoyed music by Braydon Watts. The event was attended by many community leaders who came out to welcome the contestants and their families.

The ASA Pro/Am competition commenced on Thursday, April 25, and will continue through Saturday, April 27, with the award ceremonies scheduled for Sunday, April 28. This marks the third year of the competition being hosted at Camp Minden, as part of a ten-year contract.

Serena Gray, the executive director for Webster Parish Tourism, expressed gratitude to various entities for their support, saying, “We just want to say a special thank you to the Caddo Commissioners, Visit Shreveport/Bossier, the Bossier Parish Police Jury, the Webster Parish Police Jury, and the City of Minden. We worked together to make this possible. It’s definitely greater when we work together, and we plan to continue to do that for years to come.”

Josh Grine, representing ASA Pro/Am, praised the event’s venue, stating, “This is our third year here, and this has quickly become one of our favorite [places] as a staff. I truly believe that when word starts to get out, when people learn how cool downtown Minden is and all the opportunities in Bossier City and Shreveport, we think this is going to become one of our premiere events. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love it, and we can’t wait to come back next year.”

Officials anticipate that the competition will significantly boost the area’s economy, projecting a $25 million impact over the 10-year contract period, highlighting the long-term economic benefits of hosting such events.
