by Minden Press-Herald

A Shreveport man was arrested on a DWI charge after he reportedly ran off the road and flipped his vehicle.

The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Bailey Fleming Saiv, 19, of the 10,000 block of Saratoga Drive in Shreveport, for driving while intoxicated (first offense), careless operation and open container.

Around 2 a.m., Saturday, deputies were dispatched to Amos Cutoff for a one-vehicle crash. When they arrived, the deputies questioned the driver, identified as Saiv. Saiv reportedly told them he was driving too fast and ran off the road before flipping his vehicle.

Deputies say as they were talking to Saiv, they detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Saiv was then asked to perform a field sobriety test, in which he reportedly performed poorly on all portions.

The driver was then transported to the Webster Parish Courthouse where he submitted a breath sample on the Intoxilyzer 5000. According to the report, his blood alcohol content results were .093 percent. The legal limit for a person under the age of 21 is .02.
A further investigation of the vehicle revealed an open beer can inside.

Saiv was then placed under arrest and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
