William Travis Taylor

William Travis Taylor was born January 16th, 1949 in Minden, Louisiana. He grew up in Minden and graduated Minden High, then followed his education to graduate from Louisiana Techn University. He was a member of the National Guard and served with honor.

Will was a hard worker and worked for his father at Imperial Cleaners and Laundry for several decades as an Accountant. He was proud of the family business, where he met his wife and mother of his child, Paula Jones Taylor.

He was a lifelong flying enthusiast, mechanic and pilot. He built 2 planes and flew them both. He was also a woodworker, volunteer fireman, a teacher for a time at the vo-tech college in Shreveport and a teacher at a business college in Shreveport.

Will was a kind and gentle man to everyone he met. He was liked and respected by so many people in town. He was a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren.

He passed away peacefully after being placed on hospice at Meadowview Rehab and Skilled Nursing on Thursday, February 19th around 5 p.m. He was preceeded in death by his parents Travis Taylor and Agnes Taylor, his sister Cassandra Taylor Wigley, his brother Felix Taylor, and his stepdaughter Brandy Ray. He is survived by his wife Paula Jones Taylor, his son Jonathan Taylor, his grandsons Owen Taylor and Bryan Taylor, his nephew Brian Wigley and his children, his niece Mary Margaret Landry-Davis and her children, his grandchildren from Brandy Ray, Dylan and his child, Ayla Sawyer, Gavin, and Caden, and his brother Gary Taylor and his children.

He will deeply missed by all of his family and friends, including his best friend and business partner, John Burson. His ashes will be enterred at a graveside ceremony at Gardens of Memory in April or May.
