A winter storm swept through Webster Parish last night, with freezing temperatures and significant precipitation that caused power outages across the region.
According to FindEnergy.com, 384 homes and businesses in Webster Parish remain without power as of 9:16 AM Friday, representing 2.35% of the 16,354 customers tracked in the county. Claiborne Electric Cooperative reported the highest number of outages, with 227 customers affected, accounting for 6.34% of their total service base.
In the last 72 hours, the parish experienced a peak outage count of 841, the fifth-highest number of outages statewide. Statewide, Louisiana has seen a net loss of 384 customers without power during the same period, with an average of 91 outages across the state.
Efforts to restore electricity are ongoing, with local utilities working to address downed lines and other storm-related damage.
Residents are advised to exercise caution when traveling and to report any downed power lines to their local utility provider.
