Minden gears up for spooky fun and fundraising
NOTICE: There is no rain date for the Witches Ride. It will be held Saturday come rain or shine.
Witches will take to the streets of downtown Minden this weekend for one of the city’s most anticipated fall traditions — the annual Witches Ride, hosted by Pearls of Purpose, Inc. The event is set for Saturday, October 25, and promises an evening of costumes, community spirit, and charitable giving.
Participants dressed as witches will parade through downtown on bicycles, golf carts, or on foot before gathering for a Halloween-themed block party featuring food trucks, music, and family-friendly fun. The block party will include face painting, a Halloween movie, and tunes from DJ Kelly, as well as a costume contest for best individual witch, best coven, and best-decorated bicycle or golf cart.
The Witches Ride supports Pearls of Purpose’s community outreach projects and, in the past, has partnered with the Webster Parish School Board and CASA to provide books, birthday parties, and Christmas gifts for local children.
