A Minden woman was arrested on charges of vehicle burglary at a local gas station on September 13. According to the Minden Police Department, Stacy Tims, 39, was taken into custody after stealing a purse from a vehicle parked at the Murphy USA gas station on Homer Road.
Authorities responded to the scene after an employee reported the incident. A customer alerted the staff that a female was trying to gain entry into multiple vehicles in the parking lot. When the employee went outside, she saw Tims walking through the lot holding her purse. The employee confronted Tims and retrieved the purse. According to the employee, nothing was missing from her belongings.
Upon reviewing security footage, officers observed Tims committing the burglary and removing the purse from the vehicle. After investigating the scene, officers located Tims inside Walmart, where she was placed under arrest. Tims was read her Miranda rights and transported to the Minden Police Department for booking.
During transport, Tims admitted to the burglary, stating her motive was to purchase methamphetamine. Tims was charged with simple burglary of a vehicle, a felony, and was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
