The No. 1 seed Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters routed No. 8 Delaware 72-43 in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament Wednesday in Huntsville, Alabama.
Louisiana Tech, which has won 18 in a row, will play the winner between Thursday’s game between No. 4 Sam Houston and No. 5 Liberty in the semifinals Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Paris Bradley led the Techsters with 25 points in 28 minutes. She was 9-of-11 from the field, including 7-of-8 from 3-point range.
Kaleigh Thompson and Joy Madison-Key scored nine each. Madison-Key also had nine assists.
Isla Airey had a team-high 12 rebounds.
Louisiana Tech shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field. The Lady Techsters hit 9-of-22 3-pointers.
Louisiana Tech led 21-11 after the first quarter, 37-18 at the half and 58-25 after the third.
Delaware closed its season 13-19.
“From the opening tip we had great defensive presence,” Louisiana Tech Head Coach Brooke Stoer said. “A lot of energy and intensity, it is where we have been locked in for the last few days. It was important to us to set the defense tone and it led to great offensive looks for us.
“We have taken great pride on the defensive end. Paris shot it extremely well and we did a great job finding her open looks. Took a lot of charges and it speaks to the unselfish nature of our group. This group has been unbelievably willing to learn and listen and it has been such a mature approach to the game.
“We have to turn the page quickly, recover, and be ready to attack again on Friday.”
