A number of maintenance expenditures were approved during the August 7 meeting of the Webster Parish School Board.
The Consolidated District #3 Maintenance Fund will be used to pay an invoice from Gnarly Brothers Construction in the amount of $3,350 for repairing damaged concrete at the football stadium, $2,900 for repairing a storm damaged cinder-block wall at the football locker room, and $1,950 to repair a damaged canopy and trim on the front of the school at Lakeside Jr/Sr High School. This fund will also be used to purchase a 14-foot pole saw from Hol-Mont Sales for $693.
North Webster Upper Elementary School has purchased five new classroom intercom phones from Diversifire in the amount of $1,977.40 using the Cotton Valley Maintenance Fund.
Diversifire will be paid $1,323 for repairing the fire alarm at Doyline High School out of the Doyline Maintenance Fund. Doyline High School will also be purchasing a straight-shaft edger for $450 and a 22” 60-volt push mower for $559.99 from Hol-Mont Sales.
Richardson Elementary School will be paying an invoice using the District #6 ½ Cent Sales Tax Fund for $2,219.64 from Diversifire for replacing the fire alarm motherboard.
The Shongaloo Building Fund will be used to pay Boyett Multi Services LLC $4,800 for removing underbrush around North Webster Lower Elementary.
Using the Springhill Maintenance Fund, North Webster High School will be paying Jerry Lay $3,200 for repairs to water-damaged sheetrock in the hallway and ceilings. Brown Upper Elementary School will be purchasing 100 model #9018 student chairs from Virco Inc. for $4,002 and will be paying North/South Contractors $9,400 for painting the hallways and doors.
The Webster Parish School Board continually seeks to keep the campuses in Webster Parish well maintained. Anyone is welcome to observe the school board in action during their regular meetings. The next school board meeting will be held on September 11 at 6 PM at the school board office.
