LAB provides annual scholarships opportunities to people who are blind or have severe vision impairment. He has not allowed his vision problem to prevent him from pursuing his life goals.
“I will be studying Louisiana law, and plan to return to my home state to practice upon graduation,”Yocum said. “A disability should never discount you are exclude you from achieving your goals, and I would like to help others to experience the same opportunities that I have been so blessed to experience.”
LAB is headquartered in Shreveport, where people with severe vision loss receive rehabilitation, work readiness, and employment services. “The scholarship program helps people achieve their potential through realizing their educational goals,” LAB President and CEO Shelly Taylor said. “We want people who are blind to have endless opportunities for independence.
