For forty-five years the first week in September has not only meant back to school, but for a special group of women from Minden and the surrounding area, it has meant back to Bible Study. Beginning with a small group of five, forty-five years ago, Friday Morning, as it is affectionately called, has held a Bible study led by Roberta Kitchens. For decades the ladies met in the home of Judge and Mrs. Kitchens, but with the threat of Covid 19, they moved to the more accessible reception room of First Baptist Church, where they still meet. Four years ago the study expanded to include the same study on Monday evening at 6:30 in a coed class, also meeting in the FBC reception room.
The topic this Fall will be the book of Revelation. It will be a verse-by-verse study with time for questions and discussion, adding fellowship and earnest prayer for family and community needs.
Please take advantage of this unique opportunity. There will be two classes each week: for Ladies, Friday morning at 9:30, beginning September 8th and the Coed class meeting on Monday evenings, beginning September 11, at 6:30, also at First Baptist. A study guide is available at a cost of $5.00.
Again, let me stress that this is a Bible study for men and women from all churches, all denominations. There will be no particular church doctrine included and everyone, Everyone will be welcomed. We stress the power of the Holy Spirit as our Teacher. The words of Jesus are our mission statement: “A new commandment I give to you, ‘Love one another.’”
