Minden Diamond (formerly Dixie) Youth softball and baseball teams enjoyed success in All-Star district tournaments recently and are now preparing for state tournaments next month.
In softball, the Minden Dixie Ponytails, the Minden Angels X-Play and Minden Darlings won their respective district championships. The Minden SweeTees finished runner-up in their tournament.
The Minden Angels Traditional finished runner-up in their state tournament.
All district softball tournaments were played in Ruston.
All state tournaments are July 5-9 at the Johnny downs Sports Complex in Alexandria..
In baseball, the Minden 7U team qualified for the state tournament with a runner-up finish in its district tournament held at the Minden Recreation Center.
The 7U state tournament is July 4-7 in Tioga.
Three more District 4 baseball tournaments are scheduled for June 27-30. They are the 12U O-Zone at the Minden Recreation Center, the 8U Coach Pitch in Shreveport and the AAA 10U in Haughton.
The Minden Recreation Center will host the 9U and 11U State tournaments July 5-8.
