Minden All-Star teams fared well on the first two days of the Diamond Youth Softball State Tournament at the Minden Rec Center.
The 8U team went 3-0 in pool play, defeating Mamou, Haughton and Sabine. Minden outscored its opponents 33-6.
The 10U team went 2-0-1 in pool play, defeating Haughton and Sabine and tying Vernon Parish.
Minden broke a 7-7 tie against Sabine with a single followed by back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the final (fifth) inning.
The 6U team fell to Fairview in the first round of bracket play then defeated Shreveport and Tioga in elimination games.
The champion in the three-team 12U division is being decided by round robin. Minden opened with a dominating victory over Ponchatoula.
Bracket play starts Saturday in the eight-team 8U and seven-team 10U divisions and continues in the six-team 6U division.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude Sunday. The champions in each division will represent Louisiana in their respective World Series tournaments.
