The Minden Fire Department responded to a fire in an stairwell at the Hickory Ridge apartment complex in the 900 block on Carolina Street just after 4 p.m. Monday. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before major damage could be done. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation
