Three years ago, God put it on my heart to have a fan drive as a way to give back to my community as well as help the elderly. So every 4th of July, I celebrate by collecting and distributing fans to those in need. Last year I was able to collect over 100 fans and I hope to do more this year. The support from the citizens of Minden has been enormous and I am so thankful for the outpouring of love shown by all each year. If anyone is interested in assisting with this cause, fans or donations can be dropped off at 112 W. Roosevelt Drive, Minden, La. on July 4, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or call (318) 210-1799. Also, if persons 16 or over are not registered voters and are interested in getting registered, I will have forms available as well.
