Ribbon cut for Little Believers Childcare Center

by Amber McDown

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday morning for Little Believers Childcare Center, a new faith-based daycare facility located at 303 Sibley Road in Minden.

The center is owned by Lauryn Cain and will serve children ages 6 weeks through 4 years old. The facility is currently accepting applications, and organizers said many visitors at the event were filling out enrollment forms. The daycare aims to begin operations by mid-June.

“I just want kids to grow up knowing the Lord,” said Lauryn Cain. “We’re just so excited to bless this community and be a light.” She added, “Our vision is to educate, care, and encourage kids in a Christ-like calling; we want to push them toward their calling to Jesus.”

Cain, who will serve as the center’s director, said the daycare will feature security cameras in each room, allowing parents to monitor their children via smartphone throughout the day. The center plans to implement the Frog Street curriculum beginning in August.

“This is a Christian facility,” Cain said. “We will do Bible studies in the classroom, our music will be worship music, and our teachers will pray over these kids.”

Cain is a Minden native and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. Her background includes serving in children’s ministry at local churches and teaching kindergarten at Evangel in Shreveport. She described the daycare as both a professional endeavor and a ministry.
