Sundae Funday scoops up $1,200 for 12U Champs

Community members turned out in strong support Sunday during “Sundae Funday” at Shug’s, a fundraiser for Minden’s 12U State Champion softball team.

Held from 1 PM to 9 PM on July 13, the event featured team members scooping ice cream and greeting customers as a portion of all sales was dedicated to helping cover the team’s upcoming World Series expenses.

The event raised $1,200. Mandy Hart, owner of Shug’s, praised the team, calling them “a great group of hard working girls.”

The team’s first World Series game is scheduled for Thursday at 1 PM. Fans can follow the action on GameChanger under the team name Minden 12U All Stars.
