The 10th annual Prayer in the Park will take place Saturday, August 9 at 9 AM in Academy Park.
Organized by Michael and Chequella Walker, the gathering invites residents of Minden and surrounding areas to come together in prayer for children returning to school, parents, faculty and staff, elected officials, first responders, and the City of Minden.
“This one is special because it’s our 10th year,” said Michael Walker. “We enjoy being involved in our community and hometown of Minden. Each year it gets bigger. We want you to join us in praying for our kids going back to school and their safety. We will also be praying for our city leaders, our first responders, and our town.”
Speakers for the event include Pastor Craig Williams, Pastor Gary Swanson and Ursula Hullaby. A musical selection will be provided by John Gill Jr.
The annual event serves as a community-wide moment of reflection and unity at the start of the school year.
