by Amber McDown

A Community Resource Fair will be held Thursday, August 21, from 10AM to 2PM at Minden Presbyterian Church, 1001 Broadway St. The event is free to attend.

Organizers said the fair will introduce the public to a variety of nonprofit organizations that provide resources for individuals and families in need. Many of the groups will also be seeking volunteers.

Participating organizations include Mercy’s Closet, the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA), Heart & Halos, The Dragonfly Harbor Inc., the Webster Parish Office of Community Services, Teen Challenge, Generation House, Helping Hands of Minden, the Alzheimer’s support group, Seeds, and Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry. Additional nonprofits are also expected to attend.

Community members will have the opportunity to learn more about available services and ways to get involved.
