LaMa Animal Rescue hosted its Elvis Game Night fundraiser Saturday, September 13, at the Springhill Civic Center, drawing a large crowd for an evening of contests, bingo, auctions, and music.
Elvis impersonator Mike Spillers of Mike Spillers Furniture in Minden headlined the event, entertaining attendees with a performance that organizers said was a crowd favorite. The night also featured a costume contest, silent auction, cake auction, concessions, and multiple games.

“These quarterly game nights hosted at the Springhill Civic Center are a fun way to show your support for the wayward animals of Webster Parish,” said organizer Ashley McVey of LaMa. “LaMa Rescue currently has over 100 dogs in their care, and fundraisers like this help them cover vet bills.”
The event was supported by game sponsors Timberland Truck Stop, McMillan Realty, Ark La Exteriors, Assessor Denise Edwards, Jean Procell, and McConnell & Slattery. Cadets from the Camp Minden Youth Challenge Program also volunteered their time, assisting with the event as part of their community service hours.
LaMa Animal Rescue is a volunteer-run nonprofit that rescues, fosters, and transports animals in need across northwest Louisiana. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help cover medical expenses and ongoing care for rescued animals.
