A festive crowd filled the Webster Parish Libraries’ Minden branch Monday evening as families gathered for a visit from Santa of Shreveport, marking one of the library system’s most popular holiday events of the season.
Children lined up to greet Santa, share wish lists and pose for photos. Library staff said the steady turnout began shortly after the doors opened and continued until closing, with many families arriving together to take part in the festivities.
Craft tables remained busy as children created air-dry clay ornaments to take home. Staff assisted younger participants as they shaped and decorated the keepsakes, which were designed as a hands-on complement to the Santa visit.
Parents and caregivers moved between stations with their children, and both the craft activity and Santa appearances kept the children engaged from start to finish.
The Santa visits continue this week with events scheduled at the Springhill and Doyline branches.
