A Minden man was arrested after a domestic disturbance involving his adult son early New Year’s Day, according to a Minden police report.
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Ellis Drive in reference to a disturbance shortly after midnight January 1. The caller reported he was locked in his bedroom following a physical altercation with his father.
When officers arrived and announced themselves, they could hear the father yelling inside the residence. Police reported the father eventually opened the door and appeared extremely intoxicated. He was detained and moved outside so officers could speak with the son.
The son told officers his father arrived home intoxicated and began yelling, which led to a physical altercation. Police reported the son had a contusion on his forehead consistent with being struck. The fight reportedly moved from a bedroom through a hallway and into a bathroom, causing damage to a bedroom door and nearby sheetrock.
Police noted they had responded to the residence on multiple prior occasions for similar incidents.
Eric Gullett, 51, was taken into custody, transported to the Minden Police Department and booked on a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse battery.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
