Organizers of the 28th annual Minden Mardi Gras Fasching Parade are inviting businesses, community groups, schools and families to register floats for the celebration on Saturday, January 31. As of January 9, 21 float spots remain available.
Parade participants can register online by clicking HERE or by visiting MainStreetMinden.com. “Whether you’re building something elaborate or keeping it simple, your float adds color, spirit and joy to the parade experience,” organizers said.
In addition, new tailgate party locations are available for families and groups wanting a hassle-free way to watch the parade. Academy Park spots will line East and West streets and McDonald Street, while Water Tower spots will be located along Main and Broadway streets. Each space is 20 feet wide by 16 feet deep, comes with a white 10-by-10 canopy tent, and includes access to public restrooms and additional trash cans. Spots will be ready for setup Friday, January 30, and will be available Saturday, January 31, from 7 AM to 11 PM. The cost for each spot is $50, and 10 spots remain at each location as of January 9.
Organizers encourage anyone interested in joining the parade or reserving a tailgate spot to register soon to secure a place.
