YWSC Kid’s Day raises $3,000 for Minden St. Jude Auction

Beautiful weather and a steady crowd of families contributed to a successful Young Women’s Service Club Kid’s Day event, held Saturday as part of the Minden St. Jude Auction weekend.

Children filled the activity area throughout the day, taking part in games, bounce houses, crafts and other attractions. Miss Minden titleholders were on hand to greet families, and popular characters Bluey and Chase from Paw Patrol also made appearances, drawing smiles and photo opportunities for young attendees.

Busy Bee Pediatrics participated by hosting a child-friendly clinic experience designed to introduce children to common medical tools and procedures. Dr. McNeill showed children how doctors and nurses use stethoscopes, take blood pressure, and give shots using plush toys, allowing participants to learn in a hands-on, non-threatening setting.

Organizers said the event provided a welcoming environment for families while supporting the broader fundraising mission of the Minden St. Jude Auction. Kid’s Day raised $3,000, with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The YWSC Kid’s Day is one of several family-oriented events held during the annual auction weekend, which brings the community together to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and treatment.
