Lakeside High School hosted its annual Career Expo on Wednesday, April 1, drawing more than 50 vendors and students from across Webster Parish for a morning focused on career exploration.

The event, held on campus, welcomed students from Minden High School, Doyline High School, Webster Junior High School, North Webster High School, North Webster Junior High School, and Lakeside High and Junior High schools.

Students rotated among booths throughout the morning, speaking with representatives from a wide range of professions. Many asked questions about daily job responsibilities, required training, and pathways to enter various fields.

The expo featured a diverse group of industries, including heavy equipment operation, logging, nursing, hospitality, law enforcement, and more, offering students exposure to both skilled trades and professional careers.

Organizer Lesa Ward, an instructor at Lakeside, said the event highlighted collaboration between schools and the local business community.

“From remarkable participation by our area vendors, to our intuitive students from all over the parish, this year’s expo was a celebration of future leaders in the making. We work closely with our area vendors to ensure that every sector of industry is represented. Many thanks go out to everyone who made this possible,” Ward said.

School officials said the annual event continues to grow in participation and impact, providing students with valuable insight as they begin planning for life after graduation. With strong engagement from both students and industry representatives, organizers said they expect the Career Expo to remain a key opportunity for connecting education with workforce needs in Webster Parish.
