Minden’s Hudson Brown signs to play baseball at Southern Arkansas

by Russell Hedges

Minden’s Hudson Brown signed to play baseball at Southern Arkansas during a ceremony at the school Tuesday.

A catcher, Brown batted .398 with six doubles and one home run last season. He had an o-base percentage of .531 and a 1.016 OPS.

Minden Coach Cody Davis said Brown has always handled the position of catcher well, but he really became a major contributor at the plate last season.

A four-year starter, Brown was a second-team All-District 1-4A selection in 2025.

He was also a three-year starter at quarterback and played basketball for his dad, Head Coach Jacob Brown.

Brown is the fourth Minden athlete to sign this school year.

Baseball player Landon Brewer signed with Louisiana Tech. Football player Kameron Harris signed with McNeese. Basketball player Brooklyn Jefferson signed with Xavier of New Orleans.
