North Webster junior Tatyana Lawson posted the best finish among parish athletes in the LHSAA Track and Field State Meet Friday at LSU.
Lawson finished fourth in the Class 3A girls 100 meters in 12.55 seconds. Parkview Baptist’s Jana Thymes won in 12.00.
North Webster freshman Andre’a Washington was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 48.21. Madison Prep’s Dynasty Wilfred won in 42.69.
Lawson and Washington teamed with Xhailor Mcglothan and Kylee Sanders for a fifth-place finish in the 4X200 relay in 1:46.37. University Lab won in 1:40.52.
Senior Tomiyah Hawthorne finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 9.25 inches. St. James’ Chidera Odjoku won with a 36-0.25.
Junior Javion Hawthorne (boys discus) and Angel Jackson ((girls discus) finished seventh in their respective events.
Sophomore Abrielle Parker was seventh in the girls 400.
Class 2A
Lakeside sophomore Ryleigh Taylor finished seventh in the girls 100, 200 and triple jump.
She ran a 12.79 in the 100 and a 26.49 in the 200. Her distance in the long jump was 16-2.5.
Senior Kentravion Miller was seventh in the boys discus with a throw of 43-3.
