by Minden Press-Herald

A 21-year-old man was arrested Friday, June 5, after police responded to a report of a man threatening a woman with a firearm in the 100 block of Emerald Drive.

According to a Minden Police Department report, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:40 PM following a complaint that a male subject had threatened a female with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers separated the involved parties and began interviewing witnesses. The victim told officers that the suspect, identified as White, pointed a handgun at her face and threatened to pistol-whip her and shoot her in the head.

The victim described the weapon as a black or green-colored pistol equipped with an extended magazine and told officers she wished to pursue charges.

While officers were conducting a pat-down of White, another officer located a firearm underneath the vehicle against which White had been standing when police arrived. According to the report, the weapon matched the description provided by the victim.

After being advised of his rights, White was placed under arrest.

During the investigation, officers also observed a bag of marijuana in plain view on the passenger seat of the same vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a second firearm, which police said was also consistent with the victim’s description of the weapon used during the alleged assault.

The vehicle’s owner reportedly admitted ownership of the marijuana but denied possessing any firearms.

White, who was carrying a Texas driver’s license, was arrested and booked on one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
