The Webster Parish Council on Aging is continuing its summer fan drive and is seeking additional donations to help local seniors stay cool during the hottest months of the year.
Now in its second month, the drive recently received a donation from the Civitan Club, which council officials said has been a longtime supporter of the organization’s efforts to serve older adults in the community.
“They are always so very supportive of our seniors at the Council on Aging,” said Outreach Coordinator Karen Guice. “Thank you for your work here in Minden and all that you do!”
The Council on Aging will continue accepting donations of new fans, as well as monetary contributions, over the next several weeks. Officials said the goal is to provide cooling assistance to as many Webster Parish seniors as possible during the summer heat.
Community members interested in supporting the effort are encouraged to donate fans or make a financial contribution to help ensure older residents have access to cooling during periods of high temperatures.
“We want to help as many of our seniors as possible to beat this heat,” Guice said. “Thank you for your consideration and your support.”
