Webster Parish 4-H seeks support for livestock program ahead of 2026 fair

by Amber McDown

Webster Parish 4-H is asking community members and businesses to support its livestock program as preparations begin for the 2026 Webster Parish Fair.

In a letter to livestock supporters, Webster Parish 4-H officials thanked the community for its continued support, saying local contributions make youth livestock opportunities possible.

“This year, several of our exhibitors advanced to the State Fair of Louisiana and the LSU Spring Shows in Gonzales,” the letter states. “Their achievements reflect the hard work of our youth and the strong tradition that defines Webster Parish’s livestock community.”

The 2026 Webster Parish Fair is tentatively scheduled for September 29 through October 3. Organizers said the livestock sale and buyers’ luncheon are planned for Friday, October 2.

As the new 4-H year begins, Webster Parish 4-H plans to expand its livestock program and encourage more young people to participate.

“We are asking for your support to help preserve and strengthen the longstanding tradition of an outstanding livestock show,” the letter states.

Individuals and businesses wishing to contribute may do so using the organization’s donation form. Webster Parish 4-H accepts cash, checks, and money orders, with checks payable to the Webster Parish 4-H Foundation. Donations may be submitted in person or by mail.

The Webster Parish 4-H Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and contributions are tax-deductible. Its tax identification number is available upon request.

Community support helps fund livestock educational programs, awards, facilities, and opportunities for Webster Parish 4-H members to develop leadership, responsibility, and animal husbandry skills through participation in the parish’s annual livestock show and other competitions. Those interested in supporting the program or learning more may contact the Webster Parish LSU AgCenter office.
