We have been made aware of the recent arrest of a Webster Parish bus driver based upon allegations that are not alleged to have occurred in Louisiana and which do not involve Webster Parish students. The employee at issue is on administrative leave at this time. We wish to make the community aware that all applicants for employment with Webster Parish schools must provide fingerprints to the school district. Those prints are then processed by the Louisiana State Police. Any person who has been convicted of or who has pled guilty to a crime set out on the list of offenses established by the legislature may not be employed in the district. Generally, crimes on this list include certain drug and sex offenses, as well as crimes of violence. Persons who are employed in Webster Parish have been vetted through the above procedure.
