A third arrest has been made in the burglary of a concession stand at Griffith Stadium in Minden.
Timothy Bavaro, 25, of the 700 block of Highway 518, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 5, and charged with simple burglary. Bond was set at $50,000.
According to the police report, Bavaro was picked up at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office after they arrested him on Minden’s warrant for simple burglary. He was transported from the sheriff’s office in Lake Charles to the Minden Police Department where he was booked on the above charges.
Police Chief Steve Cropper says he was located at a rehabilitation facility in Lake Charles.
“Once we got information that he was another party involved and did some investigation, he was located at a rehab facility in Lake Charles when we had probable cause to obtain a warrant,” Cropper said.
He says authorities in Lake Charles placed him under arrest when he was released from the rehab facility.
Capt. Dan Weaver was the arresting officer.
Two others were arrested in July in connection with this case.
Joseph Michael Short, 17, of the 1100 block of Shreveport Road, was arrested Thursday, July 23, and charged with two counts of simple burglary and one count of simple theft. All three charges were warrants from the Minden Police Department. Bond was set at $12,000.
Tylere Monday, 17, of the 600 block of Germantown Road, was arrested July 20, on the charge of simple burglary in this incident.
According to reports, Short turned himself into police on the warrants, one of which was for the burglary of the concession stand at Griffith Stadium that was reported to police on July 1. He was questioned about the Griffith Stadium incident as well as two others. Both warrants were issued Wednesday, July 22.
Cropper says Monday admitted to assisting in the burglary of the concession stand area, saying they took cases of drinks, candy and chips.
