22 Hands Up will bring its annual Food Fest fundraiser back to the Minden Community House on Saturday, September 26, offering an afternoon of food, music, and fellowship while raising money to support the organization’s youth programs.
Food Fest will be held from noon to 3:30 PM at the Community House, 711 Gladney Street. Doors will open at 11:30 AM. Tickets are a $40 donation and must be purchased in advance. No to-go plates will be available.
The annual fundraiser supports the work of 22 Hands Up, a nonprofit organization focused on providing education, employment, empowerment opportunities, and real-world experiences for young people.
Executive Director and co-founder Darrell Hampton has previously emphasized that the organization views its work with young people as an investment in the community’s future.
“We want to invest in the future, and there’s no better way to invest than in our youth,” Hampton said during last year’s Food Fest.
The 2025 event drew a large crowd, filling the Minden Community House with supporters. The program included a sit-down meal and musical performances, continuing the fundraiser’s emphasis on bringing the community together in support of local youth.
22 Hands Up works with young people to encourage responsibility, develop interpersonal and life skills, and provide experiences intended to help prepare them for adulthood. Among its activities are educational outings and opportunities that expose youth to college, career, and community experiences.
