EMERGENCY BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 531 bridge over Parmer’s Creek, Webster Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that the LA 531 bridge over Parmer’s Creek north of Helfin in Webster Parish is closed as a result of a crash involving an 18-wheeler.

DOTD bridge maintenance crew is currently on site conducting repairs to the structure.

We anticipate reopening the bridge by approximately 2:00 p.m. today.

Restrictions/Permits: Total bridge closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
