Dixie Inn council to consider police vehicle, maintenance projects

by Minden Press-Herald

The Village of Dixie Inn Board of Aldermen will meet at 5 PM Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Village Hall, with the purchase of a new police vehicle, repairs to village facilities, and employee compensation among the items on the agenda.

The council will consider a $1,800 quote from Jellum Services LLC to repair the roof of the village water building.

Aldermen will also consider spending up to $5,000 to insulate the maintenance building and install a ceiling and new lighting. According to the agenda, the work would be performed in-house by village employees.

Another item calls for consideration of additional compensation for Police Chief McNeill for assuming responsibilities related to the maintenance department.

The council is also scheduled to discuss increasing the rate of compensation for the STEP program from $45 per hour to $60 per hour.

Approval to purchase a new police vehicle is also on the agenda.

Before taking up new business, the council is scheduled to adopt minutes from its August regular session and approve the August financial statements. Reports will also be presented by the water and maintenance department, police department, aldermen, and mayor.

The meeting is open to the public.
