The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of upcoming nighttime lane and road closures that are a part of the LA 544 (Tech Drive) Overpass Replacement project in Ruston, LA, Lincoln Parish:
Beginning at 8 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the existing LA 544 (Tech Drive) overpass will be closed to traffic from the South Service Rd. to Woodward Ave. and will remain closed until 6 am Wednesday, September 30, 2026. During this same time frame there will also be a lane closure along I-20 Eastbound between the Tarbutton interchange and the US 167 interchange.
Beginning at 8 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, the existing LA 544 (Tech Drive) overpass will again be closed to traffic from the South Service Rd. to Woodward Ave. and will remain closed until 6 am Friday, October 2, 2026. During this same time frame there will also be a lane closure on I-20 Westbound between the US 167 interchange and the Tarbutton interchange.
These closures are necessary to allow the Contractor to set girders for the new LA 544 (Tech Drive) overpass. In order to conduct this work safely, I-20 traffic will be reduced to one lane Eastbound and Westbound. Traffic will then be diverted onto newly constructed diversion roads, then back onto their respective lanes on I-20.
Alternate Route:
Detour for LA 544 SB will be Woodward Ave., Baldwin St., and South Service Rd.
Detour for LA 544 NB will be South Service Rd., Baldwin St., and Woodward Ave.
