Three Minden veterans organizations will come together Saturday, October 3, for a combined membership drive aimed at connecting local veterans with fellow service members and opportunities to remain active in the veteran community.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2885, American Legion Post 74, and VFW Riders Post 5951 will host the membership drive from 10 AM to 2 PM at the American Legion Hall, 119 Pine St. in Minden.
Organizers are inviting veterans from throughout the area to stop by, meet members of the organizations, and learn more about opportunities to become involved.
The event is being held under the theme “Together in Service — Stronger as One,” highlighting the organizations’ shared mission of supporting veterans and strengthening connections among those who have served.
Veterans interested in joining are asked to bring a copy of their DD214 to verify their military service.
The VFW and American Legion provide veterans with opportunities for fellowship, community service, advocacy, and continued service within their communities. The combined membership drive will give local veterans an opportunity to learn more about the organizations in one location and determine which opportunities may be appropriate for them.
