A Doyline woman was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash on Louisiana Highway 527 on November 4.
Heather Parker Long, 41, was taken into custody after Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies located her and returned her to the crash scene, according to a Louisiana State Police report.
The responding trooper reported that Long admitted consuming alcoholic beverages before driving.
According to the report, Long exhibited several signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, slurred and incoherent speech, and an odor of alcohol on her breath. The trooper also reported that her explanations were difficult to follow.
Long reportedly refused to participate in standardized field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest.
She was transported to the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, where she also refused to provide a breath sample for chemical testing.
Long was subsequently booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on charges of first-offense DWI, driving under suspension, careless operation, and a seat belt violation.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
