A Minden man was arrested after he reportedly stole 13 firearms and jewelry from his mother.
The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Randall Edward Hill, 25, of the 100 block of Gilbert Parkway in Anacoca, on charges of simple burglary, 13 counts of theft of a firearm, 13 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony theft.
Deputies say an investigation into a burglary at Hill’s mother’s residence began around Oct. 14, while his mother was out of town. During this time, Hill reportedly went into the residence, took the firearms as well as a large amount of jewelry.
Hill attempted to sell the guns to two separate people, deputies said, and one refused to store any of the weapons for Hill and told investigators their location.
According to reports, deputies received a tip that some of the stolen items were inside a 2005 Buick Park Avenue. They located the vehicle in the 200 block of Mary Street and discovered the guns and a cross bow.
Deputies were able to recover 11 of the firearms, the cross bow and one necklace.
Hill was taken into custody without incident and interviewed, at which time he denied any knowledge of the alleged theft, deputies said.
He was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
