The Little League basketball season is underway at the Minden Rec. Center. Here are the results from the first day of competition.
7-10 girls
Dazzlers 23
Lady Demons 6
The Dazzlers got the win in their first game of the season, led by Keilyn Sumlin with 12 points, followed by Dakota Howard with 11 points.
The Lady Demons’ Baleigh Haulcy scored all 6 of her team’s points.
7-8 boys
Miami ‘Canes 33
Heat 8
Peyton Houston led the ‘Canes with 26 points in a victory, followed by Cameryn Davis with 4 points, Lenward Brown IV with 2 points and Kennedy Burns with 1 point.
Jakaiden Todd had 4 points for the Heat. Collin Walker added 2 points and Jakayden Gill and Keegan Kennon each had 1 point.
7-8 boys
Raptors 22
Bulls 11
Kameron Harris’s 9 points led the Raptors, followed by Kyeran Harris with 7 points and Jaiden Franklin with 6 points.
Tashondrick Moore had 6 to lead the Bulls, followed by Elijah Allen with 2 points and Xavier Taylor with 2 points. Tyson Crew added 1 point.

Kameron Harris had 7 points, Kyeran Harris and Jaiden Franklin added 4 each and Brian Wright and Warren Shephard each scored 2 points.
Ty’marion Erving, Collin Walker and Keegan Kennon all had 2 points and Jakaiden Todd finished with 1 point.

Peyton Houston had 11 points for the ‘Canes, Reginald Dudley added 4 points and Cameryn Davis finished with 2 points.
Elijah Allen had 5 points, Xavier Taylor had 3 points and Tashondrick Moore added 2 points for the Bulls.

Thunder 9
Dexter Shyne scored 9 points, Omarion Corley and Damarion Clark each scored 6 and Isayvion Emerson added 4 points for the Bulls.
Anfernee Sterling had 4 points for the Thunder, Chris Harris had 3 points and Maurice Rabb added 2 points.
Sharp Shooters 14
Spurs 13
TJ Grider, Hudson Brown and Jordan Buckner scored 4 points each for the Sharp Shooters, and Bryson Ranger added 2 points.
Al Edwards had 5 points, Justin Walton had 4 points and Brian Turner Jr. and Jebraylon Holmes each had 2 points for the Spurs.
Bulls 36

Dexter Shyne and Omarion Corley each scored 9 points, Keidrick Clark and Cameron Mitchell each scored 6 points and Isayvion Emerson added 4 points for the Bulls.
Brian Turner Jr. had 7 points to lead the Spurs, while Al Edwards had 4 points and Austin Walton added 2.
Tarheels 19
Sharp Shooters 9
Willie Jenkins and Darnell Morris each scored 6 points to lead the ‘Heels, while Jekoye Knowles added 4 points and N’Kayleb Reddix chipped in 3 points.
Bryson Ranger had 3 points for the sharp shooters and Hudson Brown, Jacobe Rankin and Jason Couch added 2 points each.
11-12 boys

Homer Pels 30
Jamaria Clark had 14 points for the Bulls, followed by Mi’Jai Batton with 10, Deonte Jackson with 9 and Malak Thomas with 3 points.
Ta’keviuntae Kidd dropped a whopping 27 points for the Pels, while Otis Ford added 2 points and Berman Hamilton Jr. scored 1 point.
Thunder 57
Heat 13
Nathan Ben led the Thunder with 18 points, while Kevin Gill Jr. scored 10 points.
Ty’Darrium Green and Eddie Markray each scored 8 points, Staff Bailey chipped in 7 points, Kamerin Wilson had 4 points and Ty’Jalyn Kemp finished with 2 points.
The Heat were led by Kielyn Combs with 6 points, followed by Da’Majae Harris with 3 points. Jakobe Jackson and Trenton Baker each scored 2 points.
